19 Displaced After 3-Alarm Waltham Fire

A fire that spread through a multi-family home in Waltham on Sunday has displaced 19 people.
Around 11:26 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, firefighters were called to 107 Russell St. in Waltham with reports that smoke was coming from the attic of the home, it was reported in Waltham Fire Department Emergency Notifications.

When trucks arrived, heavy smoke was pouring from the attic of the four-family duplex. Conditions “rapidly deteriorated” and a second alarm was struck, with a special call made to Newton’s department for an air supply unit.
The third alarm was sounded shortly after for additional manpower, which included engines from Weston, Cambridge and Watertown.

There were no reported injuries, but 19 residents were displaced after being helped by the American Red Cross.
The fire remains under investigation.
