American Consumer Credit Counseling Receives $10,000 Grant from Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation to Support Financial Education Initiatives

ACCC to utilize grant to provide consumers with access to recently published “20 Steps to Financial Health” educational resource and additional financial education workshops
(Boston, MA) – (September 10, 2012) – Newton-based American Consumer Credit Counseling announced today that the industry-leading non-profit organization has received a $10,000 grant from the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation.
The $10,000 grant will provide ACCC with the funding necessary to advance the distribution of the organization’s latest financial health resource: “20 Steps to Financial Health: Achieving Lifelong Financial Fitness.” In addition, the funding will be critical to support American Consumer Credit Counseling’s financial education programs and the more than 500 community workshops that the non-profit holds each year.

“We are truly grateful to the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation for its significant donation to our organization and its commitment to the economic well being of its surrounding communities,” said Steve Trumble, president and CEO of ACCC. “These funds are vital to supporting our community education initiatives and providing consumers with a resource that teaches ways to develop healthy financial habits.”
Through this grant, ACCC will have the funding to increase the number of workshops and community one-on-one counseling sessions provided by the non-profit organization within the community. Currently, ACCC’s Financial Education department serves more than 100,000 individuals each year throughout Massachusetts with the organization’s financial literacy workshops and community one-on-one counseling sessions.
