The $24 Million Winter Street Bridge Replacement project over Route 128 is in its 6th year of construction but major progress is being made across the project.
Over the Winter crews reached the biggest milestone yet when on January 9-11th before a massive snow storm hit crews placed the new concrete girders across all four spans. Work slowed down on the connections to the beams because of the extreme cold and the major amounts of snow. This past week crews started to place wood forms over the collector distributor roadway and will continue to place wood forms across all four spans for the rest of the month. Because of this each night for the Next 3 Weeks Route 128 NB & SB will be closed at Exit 27 at 11PM through 5AM. Crews are also working on grading the future eastbound lanes.
