Bobby Kleinau Promoted to Waltham YMCA Executive Director

The YMCA of Greater Boston is pleased to announce that Bobby Kleinau of Woburn is the new Executive Director of the Waltham YMCA.

The YMCA of Greater Boston is pleased to announce that Bobby Kleinau of Woburn is the new Executive Director of the Waltham YMCA.

Kleinau joins the Waltham YMCA after serving as the Operations Director at the North Suburban YMCA in Woburn. As Operations Director, Kleinau was involved in many aspects of the Y, including Membership, Health & Wellness, Youth and Family, Teens, Aquatics and Facilities. While working at the North Suburban Y, he served on numerous inter-Association committees including Standards of Excellence, Health & Wellness and Sales Training. Kleinau was also named “Rookie of the Year” for the YMCA of Greater Boston in 2015 and received The President’s Award in 2016.

Following a history of managing fitness clubs, such as The Sports Club in Los Angeles and Boston, the Reebok Sports Club in New York, and Town Sports International and Intentional Fitness, Inc., both in Andover, Mass. Kleinau came to the YMCA of Greater Boston.

He attended Northeastern University in Boston and holds a degree in Communication Studies. He also has a Nutrition Counselor certification from Columbia University Teacher’s College and a Personal Trainer certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
