Council Chooses Bob Waddick As New Waltham City Clerk

It was down to three applicants, but in the end, former city councilor Bob Waddick got the position.

WALTHAM, MA — Monday night the Waltham City Council hired a new clerk to fill the space vacated by Russ Malone after he retired last year.

Former City Councilor Bob Waddick, who stepped down last year with the intention to apply for the city clerk position has the job.

In the past the council has almost always handed the high paying position to former city councilors and has recently been criticized for that. A number of residents came out in support of Kara Wilson who is a current office employee in the clerks office here and who applied the last time around. Stephen Pottle of Worcester was also a finalist but left the race last week.
