Trees are being removed this week on the west side of Moody Street as part of the Downtown Sidewalk Project.

The city reports that new trees will be planted in their place, and new street lights are on the way.

The planting is part of the street project, which began last summer, involving the replacement of all sidewalks, street lighting improvements, tree planting and the installation of benches at bus stops on Moody and Main streets.

Because of the work, there is no parking on that side of Moody Street.
