'Dukes Of Hazzard' Tom Wopat Pleads Guilty To Sexual Harassment
The former star of the hit show 'Dukes of Hazzard' pleaded guilty in Waltham Court to 'Annoying and Accosting Cast Members,' the DA said.
WALTHAM, MA — A star of the old "Dukes of Hazzard," and singer Tom Wopat, 66, of New York, pleaded guilty today in Waltham District Court to two counts of annoying and accosting a person of the opposite sex in connection with charges stemming from inappropriate behavior during rehearsal for a Waltham theater performance.
His lawyer had originally denied the charges, and it looked like Wopat would not be pleading guilty. Wopat's agent last year helped post a note to Wopat's Facebook page explaining he was going to seek help for addiction issues.
Judge Tejal Mehta sentenced the Wopat to one year of probation with the conditions that he stay away from and have no contact with the two female victims, to continue to undergo counseling and to sign releases with probation.

The defendant also received a continuation without a finding for one year after admitting to sufficient facts on the charge of possession of a Class B substance. The defendant was further placed on pre-trial probation for one year on two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 with the same conditions.
On August 2, 2017, Waltham Police arrested Wopat without incident as he was leaving Waltham High School where he was rehearsing for a performance of “42nd Street," with the Reagle Music Theatre.

He was arrested on the charge of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 and transported to the Waltham Police Department for booking. While police were conducting an inventory of the defendant’s property they located a plastic bag containing cocaine in the defendant’s pocket. The defendant was subsequently charged with possession of a Class B substance.
Wopat was arraigned in Waltham District Court on August 3, 2017 on charges of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 and possession of a Class B substance in connection with inappropriately touching a cast member during rehearsal for “42nd Street” being put on by the Reagle Players in Waltham and possession of cocaine.
After the initial charges were filed police spoke with another female cast member who came forward about additional allegations. Wopat was subsequently charged with indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14 and two counts of accosting or annoying a person of the opposite sex and arraigned on November 17, 2017.
More to come.
