“The demand for this service is rapidly growing as our population continues to age,” Seniors Helping Seniors co-founder Kiran Yocom said. “We accepted Robert and his son, Josh, into our family of franchise owners because they truly understand the needs of this population – not only on a professional level, but also on a personal level.”
Prior to owning Seniors Helping Seniors, Josh worked in client facing roles supporting a wide range of industries, including higher education, pharmaceuticals and market research. However, Josh is excited to be pursuing a deep interest in connecting and providing companionship to the senior population. For the last 15 years, Josh has been involved as a volunteer within the senior services sector, primarily providing intergenerational programming at local nursing homes and assisted living communities, and is well-versed in the challenges that seniors and their families face surrounding caregiving.
“I believe that opening a Seniors Helping Seniors franchise provides a unique opportunity for seniors to support one another as they age,” said Josh. “With senior caregivers at the helm, those that receive their service benefit from the compassion, understanding, empathy and desire to be there that come with the senior caregiver’s life experiences.”
Seniors Helping Seniors franchises are limited to geographical territories, but there are no limitations or restrictions on the number of clients or caregivers. Franchises aim to set reasonable fees for clients that represent fair compensation for the caregivers acknowledging their important and valuable work.
Nonmedical services provided may include, but are not limited to, companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, home maintenance, yard work, respite care, and personal care.
