Flood Watch Issued for Tuesday

'Significant flooding' is possible in urban and poor drainage areas, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a “flood watch” for Eastern Massachusetts, including Waltham, from 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, to 1 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Roughly 2-2.5 inches of rain is expected, with the heaviest rain falling Tuesday afternoon and evening. “Significant flooding” is possible in urban and poor drainage areas, according to the service.

Temperatures are expected to reach the high 40s Tuesday.
