MBTA's Weekend Service on Fitchburg Line Suspended

The commuter rail's service will be suspended for quite some time.

Keolis Commuter Service reminded passengers in an announcement that weekend service on MBTA Commuter Rail’s Fitchburg Line would be suspended from April 25 to Nov. 22 in order to complete the final phase of a three-year signal and track improvement project.

During this phase of the project, signals along the Fitchburg Line, some of which date back to the 1950s, are being replaced, while an additional track is being added in areas where there is currently only a single track, reducing the potential for delays caused by freight traffic traveling through that part of the system, said the release

For the latest updates on expanded schedules, passengers should visit www.mbta.com, follow MBTA Commuter Rail on Twitter @MBTA_CR, or contact the Keolis Customer Service team at 617-222-3200.
