Storm to Hit Waltham During Holiday Travel Time
Potentially record-breaking rainfall this week may cause problems for travelers.

If you’re dreaming of a White Christmas, you may not want to pinch yourself.
A giant storm is headed Waltham’s way, and it’ll likely bring heavy rain, wind and some possible flooding on Christmas Eve.
The rain is expected to start on Tuesday, and it should intensify on Wednesday. Weather forecasters are predicting at least 1-2 inches of rain.

The Dec. 24 Boston rainfall record is 1.33 inches, set in 1994. The record high on Christmas Eve is 61 degrees, set in 1996. This year’s rainy, warm Christmas Eve is expected to challenge both records, according to 7News’ Bri Eggers.
The rain, wind and potential flooding are not only expected to snarl ground traffic, but the weather system, which weather.com called “very serious,” will likely cause air travel delays too.
