Waltham, Are Your Streets Passable in the Snow?

Are people leaving enough room on the streets for vehicles, especially emergency vehicles, to pass?

If a fire broke out on your street, could a fire truck pass through to get to your home (and is the hydrant shoveled out)?

Sunday morning, a resident on Grant Place argued that on her street, it could not.

Denise Landry lives on this private way, with a dead end on her side. Landry posted on Waltham Fire Department Emergency Notifications that, “I had to call the police on the first storm because [my neighbor] refused to get his truck off the street so the city can plow, so the plow guy put the snow behind his truck (and also blocked my driveway again) ..... “

On Saturday, firefighter Matthew Carter also posted, “Ladder 2 was unable to make it down Washington Avenue earlier today due to the two parked cars in this picture (shown on page). Please do not park in a way that will block an emergency vehicle.” Many residents responded to his post.
