Waltham To Begin Fire Hydrant Replacement Monday: What To Expect
Expect crews to be shutting off hydrants and replacing them with new ones the rest of this month around the city.

WALTHAM, MA — Starting Monday, Aug. 7, construction crews are going to begin replacing some 40 fire hydrants around the city, shutting them down and possibly causing some traffic delays between 7 a.m and 5 p.m.
The work is expected to last until Aug. 26. The hydrants are emergency use only, so the good news, the city said there should be no disruptions to regular water services during the work.
The city said it will give residents advanced notification for those where the street water main would require a pre-arranged shutdown to replace a hydrant.
