Waltham City Councilor Stephen Rourke Will Not Seek Re-Election
The 16-year veteran of the city council announced he will finish out the year but not seek re-election in November.

WALTHAM, MA – A 16-year veteran of the Waltham City Council announced Monday he will finish out his term but not seek re-election in November. Ward 8 Councilor Stephen Rourke made the announcement in an email to constituents, telling Waltham Newswatch he is stepping down to pursue other interests.
Rourke originally won his seat on the city council in 2001. Well-liked among both voters and fellow councilors, Rourke's interests extended past just politics in Waltham. He also runs a local media company and was a founding member of Reagle Musical Theater.
Ward 9 Councilor Robert Logan said Monday Rourke will be missed on the council.
