Waltham Hosts Purple Heart Flag-Raising

Gather to honor those who were wounded, or lost their lives, on the battlefield.

Waltham is recognized as a “Purple Heart City” in Massachusetts, and will host a Purple Heart flag raising to honor and recognize those who were wounded, or died, on the battlefield.

This Purple Heart ceremony will take place on Friday, Aug. 7, at 9 a.m. in front of City Hall.

Join Major Jeannette McCarthy, city councillors and Michael Russo, director of veterans services, to raise the flag in honor of these people who were willing to serve our country, and “gave their all in defense of those freedoms.”
