The treat originated at the Good Food Coffee and Bakery in Prague, inspired by a Czech pastry called the trdelník.
In order to make the trdelník, bakers wrap dough around a stick, grill it, and then top it with sugar and walnut mix. As it is a hollow pastry and similar in texture to a donut, the idea came about to fill it with ice cream and dub it the "donut ice cream cone."

Naturally the hybrid of the two treats has driven sweet lovers the world over into a frenzy; luckily, Bay Staters won't have to book a flight to Prague to satisfy their cravings.
However Pizzi Farm is only offering donut ice cream cones on April 1, and the supply is limited.
So if you show up April 2, you better bring your passport.
