How Did Tuesday's Storm Affect Watertown?
Power outages, golf-size hail and downed tree limbs were some of what residents experience during the severe weather.

Golf-size hail pelted Watertown during a strong but brief afternoon storm Tuesday that also left many residents without power through much of night.

More than 600 Eversource Energy customers were without electricity as of 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, because of the storm. Most of the city had it’s power restored by early Wednesday morning.

High winds from the storm also damaged neighborhood trees. A tree was knocked down and blocked traffic on Warren Street, near Waverly Avenue, according to a Watertown News report. Tree limbs also fell on cars parked on Bridge and Putnam streets, and power lines were down in Beacon Park and Bridge Street, the report added.

Residents on social media posted updates and photos throughout the afternoon of the large hail that fell.
