According to police, DiBona’s vehicle was traveling eastbound at an “excessive” rate of speed when he left the road and struck a large tree, sending all three individuals in the car to hospitals. DiBona and 16-year-old Daniel J. Hochberger were transported by ambulance to Metrowest Hospital in Framingham. The other passenger, 17-year-old Aleksey J. Golden, was transported via MedFlight to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Wayland Fire Chief Vinnie Smith said MedFlight was contacted due to the nature of the victim’s symptoms at the scene and the time of day the crash occurred, but he did not believe the injuries to be life-threatening.
