Construction Crews Find Grenade in Walls of Wellesley Home
Police and fire departments were called to a home on Marshall Road on Wednesday morning.

The Wellseley Police Department on Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the early afternoon investigated a grenade found on Marshall Road. The grenade was determined to be an “inert training unit” and not live.
Police and fire departments responded to a home on Marshall Road after it was reported that a grenade had been found. Construction crews found what appeared to be a military hand grenade while removing a wall inside the home.
Wellesley police checked the home and sealed off the small area as a precaution.The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad determined that the grenade was not live, said police, and the grenade “appeared to be a training unit that was inert and not a danger. The grenade did not appear to be a modern unit.”
