10 New Items to Check Out at the Library

New arrivals include music, movies and books for all ages.

Wowbrary.com lists the top new releases at libraries around the country. Here is a look at 10 new items you can now find at the . 

  1. Something Borrowed, from Warner Bros. Pictures. Chick-lit lovers, and those who love them, will flock to Something Borrowed. The movie itself borrows some of the best bits from earlier romantic comedies like When Harry Met Sally,  27 Dresses, and Sex and the City. Though Kate Hudson is the ostensible Big Star here, it's Ginnifer Goodwin (Big Love, He's Just Not That into You) who finally comes into her own as a winsome leading lady.
  2. Cocktail Hour Under the Tree of Forgetfulness, by Alexandra Fuller. In this sequel to Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight, Alexandra Fuller returns to Africa and the story of her unforgettable family. Fuller braids a multilayered narrative around the perfectly lit, Happy Valley-era Africa of her mother's childhood; the boiled cabbage grimness of her father's English childhood; and the darker, civil war- torn Africa of her own childhood.
  3. The Little Mermaid (Two-Disc Platinum Edition), from Walt Disney Home Entertainment. From the moment that Prince Eric's ship emerged from the fog in the opening credits it was apparent that Disney had suddenly recaptured that 'magic' that had been dormant for thirty years. In the tale of a headstrong young mermaid who yearns to 'spend a day, warm on the sand,' Ariel trades her voice to Ursula, the Sea Witch (classically voiced by Pat Carroll), for a pair of legs.
  4. Flash and Bones: A Novel (Temperance Brennan), by Kathy Reichs. This new novel is set in Charlotte, North Carolina, featuring America’s favorite forensic anthropologist, Dr. Temperance Brennan.
