Beth Tikvah Synagogue Accepting School Registrations
Religious School Registration Information
Beth Tikvah students are eagerly looking forward to a new school year full of fun and hands-on learning beginning Sunday September 18, 2016. We offer all of our students an extremely positive and quality religious school education. Our goal is to instill in each and every student a deep appreciation, knowledge, and understanding about his/her rich Jewish heritage, customs, language, and religious practice. Learning, wherever possible, is hands-on, participatory and engaging. Our small class sizes allow for individualized attention and focus on your child. We are currently accepting registrations for the 2016-2017 school year. If you are interested in enrolling your child and would like some more information, please contact Cindy Avergon via email at cavergon@aol.com or by phone at 508-616-9037 ext 3. Or please visit our website at http://www.bethtikvahsynagogue.org/hebrewschool where you can find more information about our school along with our religious school handbook and registration forms.
At Beth Tikvah Synagogue we have always prided ourselves on removing barriers to membership, welcoming those of all backgrounds, and being open to all, regardless of income. In accordance with these ideals, we do not charge fixed dues rates at Beth Tikvah Synagogue. Instead we have instituted an innovative approach to membership dues that we call Terumah. In the Torah, terumah indicated a "free-will" offering, not a required one. It is a “pledge”, an annual voluntary financial commitment. Terumah has no singles/family dues distinction. It is not based on how many in a household are active at our synagogue, or how you participate in our synagogue life. It is based on how much your heart is moved to strengthen, celebrate and grow Jewish life at Beth Tikvah Synagogue, and your own financial capacity. Allowing members to set their own financial commitment opens the doors even wider to all, regardless of financial situation. Everyone gives as much as they are able and no one has to ask for reduced dues.
To learn more about our unique synagogue and religious school, join us at our open house and barbecue on Sunday August 28th from 4 – 6 PM at 45 Oak St. Westborough. This will be a great opportunity to meet the Rabbi, see our facility, and meet some of our members. Beth Tikvah Synagogue is a warm, inclusive, egalitarian, and fully participatory independent congregation. We are an inviting, joyful and spirited community which provides a special opportunity for families to grow together in a Jewish environment.
