WESTBOROUGH, MA -- The Friends of Westborough donated to the Pastoral Counseling Centers of Massachusetts funds to be used for financial aid for Westborough clients at the centers. This is the second year that The Friends have supported the counseling center.

The Pastoral Counseling Centers of Massachusetts is an interfaith counseling center with its main office in Westborough; other offices include Worcester and Hudson.

They have been caring for people since 1984 and serve over 80 communities in central Massachusetts, said the announcement. As an interfaith counseling center, they are open to all persons and bring a holistic approach supporting a person’s spiritual life, if desired, as well as the traditional psychological understanding of human needs and relationships.

Counselors see adults, couples, children and families and also offer support groups in various arenas. They take most insurances and have a sliding scale for those unable to use insurance. The center also has an Assistance Fund to help those struggling financially. The program is very appreciative for contributions as the cost of therapy is rarely completely covered by the payments they receive for services and they depend a great deal on the generosity of faith communities, civic groups, businesses and individuals to maintain our organization. The Friends of Westborough, Inc. have been of service to the community since 1987.

Future programs include “Westborough History Enters the Digital Age.” on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. Anthony Vaver, local history librarian, will present the program at the Westborough Public Library meeting room.
