The six-alarm fire in Gardner reportedly started at a furniture store on Sherman Street then spread to surrounding buildings.

No serious injuries have been reported in the fire, which reportedly started in Rome Furniture then spread to surrounding buildings.

It was the latest in a series of fires across the region.

Officials in the region issued “red-flag” alerts for high fire danger Monday and Tuesday due to hot, dry, and windy weather.

On Monday in Concord, N.H., firefighters battled a huge brush fire that extended to more than 60 acres.

Also on Monday, Westborough (Mass.) firefighters battled a 10-acre brush fire.

The hot, dry weather is expected to continue for the rest of week.
