A massive fire broke out in Gardner Tuesday afternoon—the latest in a strong of blazes exacerbated by hot, dry, and windy weather.

The six-alarm fire in Gardner reportedly started at a furniture store on Sherman Street then spread to surrounding buildings.

The smoke was so intense it could be picked up on weather radar:

No serious injuries have been reported in the fire, which reportedly started in Rome Furniture then spread to surrounding buildings.

It was the latest in a series of fires across the region.

A man died in a fire at a condominium complex in Arlington early Tuesday morning.

Officials in the region issued “red-flag” alerts for high fire danger Monday and Tuesday due to hot, dry, and windy weather.

On Monday in Concord, N.H., firefighters battled a huge brush fire that extended to more than 60 acres.

Also on Monday, Westborough (Mass.) firefighters battled a 10-acre brush fire.

The hot, dry weather is expected to continue for the rest of week.
