Channel 5's Kelley Tuthill to Join Regis College Staff
She will be the school's first Vice President of Public Relations and Communications.

WESTON, MA - Regis College announced its first-ever Vice President of Public Relations and Communications Wednesday.
WCVB Channel 5's Kelley Tuthill, a well-known local reporter and anchor, will fill the role as the school's brand expands globally.

"In recent years, Regis has become a powerhouse in liberal arts education for the professional and graduate education in nursing and health sciences. As a result, our university has become increasingly visible locally, nationally and internationally," Regis College President Antoinette Hays said in a press release. "With Kelley leading our communications efforts, we have someone who brings not only deep journalistic experience, but also someone who has a passion for our mission."
Tuthill has worked at WCVB for 18 years, writing and producing for all of the network's platforms. She won the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association’s "Best Use of Digital Media" award for her 2014 coverage of the Whitey Bulger trial and has won three National Headliner Awards, in addition to being nominated for several Emmys, for her role in a team that covered the Boston Marathon bombing and trial.

She has received numerous Gracie Awards, an Associated Press Best Breaking News Award and in 2002 was selected for a prestigious ethics fellowship at the Poynter Institute.
Tuthill is also an advocate for women fighting breast cancer, winning an Emmy for "Kelley's Story," a 10-part series documenting her own struggles with the disease that was featured on "Good Morning America" and CNN.
"After many wonderful years at WCVB," Tuthill said in the release, "I am eager to take on a new challenge. In today's world, communications is a 24/7 discipline and I stand ready to devote my time, talents and heart to this beloved institution."
Regis College is a Catholic university in Weston with more than 1900 undergraduate, graduate and doctorate students. It was recently named a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education by the National League of Nursing, an honor it has received three times.
Tuthill will begin her tenure June 6.
