Regis appoints Weston Resident as new Paralegal and Legal Studies Program Director

Regis College has announced the appointment of Carmenelisa Perez-Kudzma, Esq, as the new Paralegal and Legal Studies Program Director and Assistant Professor, effective this academic year. The Paralegal and Legal Studies Program at Regis College was approved last spring and will officially launch in spring of 2015.


Attorney Perez-Kudzma is a long-time Weston resident and also the owner and Senior Counsel of Perez-Kudzma Law Office, P.C. located in Weston, MA. She holds a Master of Laws degree in Intellectual Property, Commerce, and Technology from Franklin Pierce Law Center (UNH); a Juris Doctor from the Massachusetts School of Law; and a Bachelor’s from Regis University Denver in Philosophy and Political Science. She has taught in numerous programs at different undergraduate colleges, MBA graduate programs and law school. Her recent teaching posts were at Florida A&M University College of Law, Inter American University in Puerto Rico, Emmanuel College, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and the Massachusetts School of Law.

“In the course of having run a successful general practice law firm for over 17 years, Ms. Perez
Kudzma has supervised and trained numerous attorneys, paralegals, and support staff,” said
Malcolm Asadoorian, PhD, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Regis. “She is an innovative
and interdisciplinary educator, and we are so pleased to have her as part of the Regis College
community.”

“I am eager to work closely with students, faculty and staff in order to meet Regis’ goals,” said
Perez-Kudzma. “Having lived and worked in Weston many years, I have witnessed Regis’ growth and am continually impressed with Regis’ commitment to the students.”

“Carmenelisa has a lot of enthusiasm for the law, and her hands-on experience will provide a wealth of knowledge to Regis students,” said Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN, President of Regis.

In addition to running her law firm, Perez-Kudzma serves on the Diversity Task Force of the
United States Bankruptcy Court, First Circuit, District of Massachusetts and in the Weston Cultural Council as an elected official in the Town of Weston. She has recently presented on cybercrime at the 8th Congress on Education and Technology. Attorney Perez-Kudzma has published in IDEA: the Franklin Pierce Law Center Intellectual Property Law Review in addition to having written successful appellate briefs that have become published court opinions. Her recent article is title Fiduciary Duties in Academia. She has also written creative works including books, poetry, screenplays, and plays.
