Spellman Museum Open on Martin Luther King Day
Celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History at Regis College in Weston 1/15/18.
To celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History at Regis College in Weston will open from 10:00 to 3:00 on Monday, January 15. A special exhibit featuring stamps both about Dr. King and other great African-Americans will be on display.
Children can do various stamp activities including making their own collection of US stamps from the Black Heritage US stamp series. There will be stamp scavenger hunts for prizes, stamp puzzles and searching in the Museum’s two-cent stamp boxes. Children can also design their own Dr. King stamps to display in the Museum’s main gallery. Lessons will be given on how to make unique envelopes to send letters to friends (free postage)
In addition, each family will receive a packet of stamps, a Dr. King US commemorative stamp and a booklet prepared by the US Post Office featuring African-Americans on stamps with their brief biographies. A booklet about how to start a stamp collection will also be available. The Museum gift shop and official US Post Office will also be open.

Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for children (ages 5 -16). Library passes are accepted. Both the gift shop and US Post Office will be open.
The Exhibit for Black History Month will run until the end of February.
