WESTON, MA — Weston will honor the memory of the thousands of victims who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, with a flag planting ceremony. On Wednesday, 3,000 flags will be planted on the Town Green, signifying one flag for each life lost that day.

The event is open to the public and residents are encouraged to help plant flags to honor the victims. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday and will include a brief ceremony. The bell will sound at First Parish Church to signify the first moment of the attacks and thus the moment that we will begin placing the flags.

The event is hosted by the recreation department and the town.
