TeenLife Event at Mall at Chestnut Hill Connects Teenagers to Community Service Opportunities in Greater Boston
Studies show that teens who volunteer gain benefits ranging from increased self-esteem to acquiring critical job skills. Taking action in their community is also an important component for a successful college application. Many middle and high school students are even required to complete up to 40 hours of service work to graduate. However, students, parents, and educators often struggle to find opportunities for volunteers under 18—and that match students’ schedules and interests.
For this reason, TeenLife is hosting its 6th annual TeenLife LIVE! Community Service Fair & Expo on February 10th from 12 to 4 p.m.at The Mall at Chestnut Hill. This event helps connect more than 1,200+ students, parents, and teachers with 50 local non-profits in and around Boston that specifically engage teen volunteers. Attendees will also learn about programs and services offered by Sponsors and other Supporting Exhibitors catering to college-bound teens.
Students, parents and educators can pre-register at https://www.teenlife.com/pages/teenlife-live-boston to receive advance information and expedited check in. Attendance is FREE! Attendees will also receive a digital 2013 Guide to Community Service in Boston, which features 200+ more organizations.

They discover where their passions lie while undertaking meaningful work. These experiences allow them to make more informed choices about college and career options as well as instill a lifelong interest in giving back.”
