The West Roxbury Neighborhood Council will meet on Tuesday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the . The agenda will include two presentations by City of Boston officials:

  • Meredith Weenick will discuss Mayor Menino's Health Insurance Reform Efforts. Controlling dramatically escalating health insurance costs for employees and retirees is one of the most urgent budgetary issues facing municipalities across the Commonwealth. The City of Boston will spend nearly $300 million, or 13 percent of its budget, on health insurance in Fiscal Year 2011. Weenick will explain the Mayor's plan to slow the growth of health insurance costs.
  • A Public Works/Environmental Dept representative will discuss the upcoming conversions of many of our street lights from mercury vapor (white light) to energy efficient LEDs.  Public Works has already converted a number of these lights with great success in pockets of some neighborhoods such as Brighton and Roslindale.

All WRNC meetings are open to the public.
