Imagining The Past at the Fisher School House

An exhibit of historical photographs and artifacts of Westwood will be held at the Westwood Historical Society this Sunday.

Come and travel back in time this Sunday to the Fisher School on 830 High Street in Westwood between 2 and 4 p.m. for an open house and exhibit called "Imagining the Past."

The exhibit will have an array of artifacts and photographs dating back from the days of West Dedham  to present day Westwood.  

One display will have artifacts including stone points and tools discovered and collected by Oak Street resident Raymond Houghton, who is a member of Fellowship Farm.

Another 27 points and tools identified by Dr. Curtis Hoffman of the Massachusetts Archeological Society will be on display, ranging from 1600 A.D. to 1500 B.C. There will also be more than 200 points, tools, scrapers, fishing weights, and pottery collected by Al Fordham in South Carolina while stationed during World War II.

Other displays will include a photos of the Westwood air field, the blacksmith shop located where the Mobile station now stands, French's Grocery Store, and many more historical photographs.
