📰 News we're reading
• Game of the Year: Central Catholic bests Xaverian in 103-point affair (bostonherald.com) — Fans in Westwood just saw a high school football classic, as Central Catholic edged Xaverian 52–51 on Xaverian's home field in town with a last-second field goal. The back-and-forth matchup featured huge plays, multiple lead changes, and standout performances from quarterbacks and receivers on both sides, giving local spectators one of the most dramatic games of the season.
• Stoughton High School Ends Class Rank Reporting to Reduce Student Stress, Competition (wror.com) — Westwood families may be interested that Stoughton High is joining a growing group of Massachusetts schools, including Westwood High, that no longer report exact class rank to colleges. The move is meant to ease stress while still sharing GPA, course rigor, and honors like valedictorian and top-10 status, and it reflects a broader shift in how local schools present student achievement.
