Police Urge Residents to Lock Cars Overnight

The is during the overnight hours after a slue of recently-reported break-ins in various neighborhoods.  

Three separate reports of motor-vehicle break-ins were reported to police last Monday, Nov. 28. 

The first report came in at 7:46 a.m., when a resident of East Street reported that a parked Jeep Liberty had been broken into during the overnight hours. A purse containing credit cards and loose change was taken from the vehicle. 

Another unlocked vehicle on Willard Circle was also broken into, according to a report that came in at 8:34 a.m. on the same day. A GPS device and a satellite radio were taken from the car, police said. 

Then, at around 1:17 p.m. on Nov. 28, police received a report that a Volkswagen vehicle was broken into on Ash Street. Taken from that car were a pair of sunglasses, a GPS device and an iPod. 

It is possible that the three incidents may be connected, according to Westwood Police Detective Paul Toland.

"The same geographical neighborhoods would point to that being a strong possibility," Toland said. 

Police continue to investigate all three incidents.
