Westwood Boy Avoids Abduction on Washington Street
The incident took place during a Boy Scout Car Wash last weekend.

A Westwood resident reported to police last weekend that his 10-year-old son was allegedly asked to enter a stranger's vehicle while at a local Boy Scout Car Wash last Saturday, according to recent police reports.
The boy, who was holding a sign for the car wash near the in Islington, was reportedly asked by a man if he wanted to enter the back seat of what was described as a gold or bronze newer model four-door sedan. No make or model of the vehicle was reported.
Two occupants were present in the vehicle at the time, police said, as well as a Golden Retriever. One of the occupants, the passenger in the vehicle, was described as a 50-year-old male with salt-and-pepper hair and a beard, and wearing a baseball hat with an unknown logo.

The boy avoid the strangers, and reported the incident directly to his father, who was at the nearby Morrison Field at the time. The father then reported the matter to Westwood Police on Saturday, April 9, at around 12:56 p.m.
Westwood Police have made a broadcast announcement to surrounding agencies to see if similar incidents have taken place.
