Westwood Police Log: Craigslist Scam, Disturbance at Budget Inn

Bad Online Purchase

August 3, 1:23 p.m. - A resident of High Street reported to police that purchase he made of software on Craigslist resulted in a poor product.

Specifically, the resident bought the software on the website, which was technically out of Westwood's jurisdiction, though the seller represented online that he was from Westwood.

The actual software disc that the resident received turned out to be blank, and after several attempts to make contact with the seller, the resident has yet to hear back.

It is speculated that the matter was some form of scam, police said.

Drunk Disturbance at Budget Inn

August 5, 2:56 a.m. - Police responded to a 9-1-1 call from the , where it was reported that an intoxicated male was causing a disturbance in the parking lot, and knocking on doors at the lodging.

Police arrived and made contact with the individual before escorting him into a guest room he'd been occupying.
