Westwood Police Log: Deer Hit, House Broken Into on Canton Street

February 15, 9 a.m. – Westwood Police responded to the area of Canton Street after receiving reports of a motor vehicle accident involving a deer, according to police reports.

The deer was dispatched as a result of the accident, and the vehicle sustained minor damage to the front end.

February 16, 3:19 p.m. – Police received report from a Canton Street resident that their home had been broken into between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Upon arrival, police determined that entry to the home was gained through a door that had been kicked in, and some loose change had been taken from the household. The matter is still under investigation.
