Westwood Police Log: Drivers Injured in Collision, More Damage on Everett Street

Two cars collide on High Street and more damage was found in a lot on Everett Street.

May 3, 10:37 a.m. - Westwood Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on High Street near Lowder Brook Drive, where a 1996 Oldsmobile and a 2007 BMW collided. 

The driver of the Oldsmobile was traveling east on High Street and, as she approached an traffic light, which was green, the BMW took a left-hand turn, resulting in the collision, as the Oldsmobile was unable to stop in time.

The driver of the BMW stated she was stopped in a left-hand turn lane and made the turn after the green arrow on the traffic light was illuminated.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and the passenger in the Oldsmobile was transported to Norwood Hospital complaining of pain.

May 3, 12:51 p.m. - Police received an additional report stemming from a in a contractor's lot on Everett Street.

It was reported that the windows of a small office building located toward the rear of the property had been smashed in with a large rock. Police said the building is the office for the actual owner of the land, who is not on site on a regular basis.

The incident allegedly took place around the same time as the earlier-reported incidents, however was reported at a later time.

The matter continues to be under investigation.
