Westwood Police Log: Lost Firearms Found and Underaged Drinking Party Broken Up
Westwood Police reports that six lost firearms were found by the owner, and an accident on Winter Street led to the break up of an underage drinking party.
July 20, 3:36 p.m.- A Hartford Street resident reported locating six firearms that he had recently reported stolen or lost. He reported he had found them in the house.
July 23, 11:44 p.m.- Westwood Police responded to a two car motor vehicle accident that occurred on Winter Street. Officials reported that a 2002 Ford was traveling from Norwood to Westwood when a 2000 Toyota backed out into the public way. The operator on roadway did not immediately detect the car backing out of the driveway, and the cars collided.
After obtaining statements from the parties involved, a neighbor informed an officer that there was suspicion of a party with underaged drinking on the same street. Police followed up with an investigation and found there was an underage drinking party involving minors ranging from 18 to 20 years old.

Police seized two 30 packs of beer, loose cans of beer and a bottle of Bacardi rum.
No arrests were made but the minors were summonsed to court for underage possession of alcohol.
