Westwood Police Log: Man Arrested on Warrant, Home Broken Into

A Westwood man was arrested on a probation warrant and a home was illegally entered.

April 27, 7:27 p.m. - Westwood Police arrested a 20-year-old Strafford Road resident on a probation warrant, according to reports.

James Drew, 20, of 10 Strafford Rd. in Westwood, was arrested at his home and was transported to Dedham District Court.

April 29, 12:17 p.m. - A resident of East Street reported to police that upon returning home, he noticed that the house had been broken into.

Police arrived at the scene, and determined that the method of entry was through a door enclosed within a breezeway in the home. 

The matter is still under investigation, and inventory of missing property is still being completed. Police initially determined a small quantity of cash was believed to have been taken.

April 30, 8:34 a.m. - Police received a report from a Hartford Street resident that damage had been done to his fence from what appeared to be a late-model Ford Mustang. 

About $2,000 in damages had been done to the fence, police said, and a component left at the scene from the vehicle indicated to police that the car involved was a 2008 Mustang. 

The matter is under investigation.
