Westwood Police Log: Residents Arrested for Assault, Newton Man Arrested for Drug Possession

March 20, 1:37 a.m. - Westwood Police responded to a residence on Cardinal Drive after receiving a report of a disturbance inside a household there. As a result, two individuals were placed under arrest.
The individuals were charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after a verbal argument broke out into a physical altercation. The two were transferred to the Westwood Police Station and later bailed.
March 21, 1:48 a.m. - Police arrested a Newton man for drug possession after pulling the Toyota Camry he was driving over in the area of Thatcher Street and Gay Street.
The man was charged with illegal possession of a Class E substance - 13 tablets of Xanax - after police pulled his vehicle over for a defective front headlight.
