Westwood Police Log: Suspicious Packages Found at Bus Station, Walgreens

Police receive two separate reports of suspicious packages in Westwood.

April 5, 11:03 a.m. - Westwood police received a report of a suspicious package from a passerby of the Islington Bus Station on Washington Street. 

The package was described as a grey backpack with a white stripe. Upon investigation, police determined that the package was a piece of luggage, containing overnight clothes, that was left behind.

April 8, 7:03 p.m. - A clerk at  reported to police that a small bag containing a suspicious white substance was discovered on the floor of one of the aisles in the store.

The bag contained two small baggies holding a white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine based on the manner in which it was packaged, according to Westwood Police.

The powder was brought back to the , where it tested positive for cocaine. Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage of the store to locate a potential suspect; the matter remains under investigation.
