Westwood Police Log: Suspicious Tent Spotted Behind Home, Driver Cited

Police address a homeless person near a resident's home, and a driver was cited on multiple charges.

March 12, 8:49 a.m. - Westwood Police received a report from a resident of Canton Terrace that a homeless person had erected a tent in the area behind her home, according to reports.

The resident expressed concern for the individual, police said, and upon arrival, officers located the tent, though no one was located inside. The resident was asked to contact police if any future actions are taken by the reported person, and police are making periodic checks of the area.

March 12, 4:01 p.m. - Police issued the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro a criminal complaint for several charges after pulling the vehicle over on Gay Street, according to reports.

The driver was cited for driving a vehicle with a suspended license, operation of an uninsured vehicle, and operating with a revoked registration. The criminal complaints were issued after police pulled the car over for having a rear window that was heavily tinted, police said.
