Westwood Police Log: Water Meter Damaged, Cars Collide on Gay Street

The following information was supplied by the Westwood Police Department.

Water Meter Vandalized

May 30, 6:19 p.m. - responded to a residence on Canton Street, where a water meter had reportedly been vandalized. 

Specifically, a black box covering the meter, which is small and rectangular in shape, was torn off, police said.

The rest of the home and property were checked and everything else appeared to be in order. The matter remains under investigation.

None Injured in Car Collision

June 1, 1:53 p.m. - Police responded to the corner of Deerfield Avenue and Gay Street after receiving reports of a two-car accident. 

The incident involved a 2007 Volvo and a 2007 Hyundai. The Hyundai was reportedly exiting Deerfield Avenue when it was struck by the 2007 Volvo, which was traveling on Gay Street. 

The Hyundai was towed from the scene; there were two patient refusals to the hospital.
