WPD Looking for Vehicle After Attempted Abduction
The passenger of a white Sports Utility Vehicle attempted to abduct an 11-year-old girl Monday night, according to police reports.

Westwood Police are investigating an attempted abduction of an 11-year-old girl that occurred Monday night on Dover Road.
At around 8:35 p.m. Monday, July 23, the girl was walking on Dover Road to a friend's house, when a white SUV with tinted windows, pulled up near the girl and stopped. A passenger in the vehicle then asked the girl to "get in the car," according to police.
The girl ran away from the vehicle, which then drove off toward High Street, police said Tuesday.

"It is believed the occupants of the SUV were in their late teens or early 20s," Westwood Police Detective Paul Toland told Westwood Patch.
Police said the vehicle may be a late-model Ford Explorer. The matter is currently under investigation.
