Candidate Statement from State Rep. Candidate Caroline Colarusso
Stoneham Selectwoman and State Rep. Candidate Caroline Colarusso pens a candidate statement.

Submitted by Stoneham Selectwoman Caroline Colarusso
It’s critical to have a Representative who has municipal government experience, will work full time, will open a district office, and has an excellent working relationship with the Governor. I’m proud to have Gov. Baker’s endorsement.
Since being elected a Selectwoman, I’ve worked hard to make a positive difference. My accomplishments over the past year include: cutting water rates, trash fees and property tax rates, improving services at Town Hall, holding weekly office hours, solving problems, holding seminars on fighting Chapter 40B and Alzheimer’s, securing funding for Opioid Community Coordinator, securing funds for a bus Stop at the Stone Zoo, improving road safety, fully staffing both police and fire departments, appropriating funds for technology enhancements for high school students, voting to appropriate funds for an outdoor study area at the public library, initiated small business growth, and recruited businesses to our downtown area.

It took a plan of action to accomplish all these things. As your next Representative, I have set of goals to help you. I’m the only candidate committed to stopping the Weiss Farm and Forest Ridge Projects. On my first day I’ll file legislation to fix our state’s outdated chapter 40b housing laws.
I’m also opposed to the Eversource project.

We have to revitalize our downtown areas by helping small businesses. That’s why I’ll work to pass the Small Business Bill of Rights.
As a Selectwoman, I secured funding for an Opioid Community Coordinator to help our families. Unlike the incumbent, I’ll push for legislation to allow hospitals to keep people who have overdosed for three days which will give them a fighting chance to get the help they need.
Most importantly, I’ll be your full time representative. Back in the district, I’ll open an office and hold weekly office hours. My priorities will never be divided by another job or special interest group money.
On Tuesday, November 8th I would be honored to have your vote.
