• Winchester Select Board starts writing 2027 goals for Senior, Ward (winchesternews.org) — Winchester's Select Board has begun shaping 2027 performance goals for Town Manager Christopher Senior and Comptroller Stacie Ward, whose work directly affects town finances and operations. Members emphasized clearer written updates, a long-promised management dashboard, and tying Ward's ongoing financial projects into the town's long-range planning, with more formalized goal lists expected at the Sept. 28 meeting.
   

• Town takes in nearly one-fifth of budget in first month of FY27 (homenewshere.com) — Winchester has already collected about 19 percent of its FY27 budget and spent roughly 15 percent, with major departments currently running slightly behind last year's early spending pace. Community Preservation Act revenues are funding local projects like Ginn pickleball courts, Wedge Pond aeration, and school and park upgrades, leaving about $560,000 available for additional proposals at fall Town Meeting.
