Safety is Winchester High School's Top Concern Following Hit List Incident
The school will take steps to address the safety and emotional needs of the students, parents and staff.

In the wake of the news that a student at Winchester High School allegedly targeted peers on a ‘hit list,’ the Winchester School Committee announced that the safety of students and staff is their top concern at this time.
Police identified a Winchester High School student who made a list of other students he wished to harm on Friday afternoon and the parents of the students on the list were contacted by the school.
Classes will resume on Monday and the Winchester School Committee ensures that the school will take steps to address the safety and emotional needs of the students, parents and staff.

It is important that students, staff, parents and members of the community report concerning issues to school officials, said Christian Nixon, Chairman of Winchester School Committee.
“Only when such concerns are made known can they be investigated and responded to appropriately,” Nixon said in a statement.
