Laurie Isop is the recent winner of the Cheerios New Author contest, with her book, “How Do You Hug a Porcupine?” This book, illustrated by Gwen Millward, tells the reader how easy it is to hug animals…except for the porcupine: “ He wears a coat of thorny quills. / To hug this one will take some skills!” Ms. Isop will read the book aloud, then talk with those present and answer questions. She will also sell and sign copies of her book. Children ages 4 and older will enjoy hearing about that porcupine and meeting the author herself.
