• City releases RFP for former Wyman School (homenewshere.com) — Woburn has officially opened bidding for a long-term lease and redevelopment of the historic former Wyman School at 679 Main Street, with proposals due December 15, 2026. The city is encouraging creative reuses that fit the neighborhood, preserve the building's historic exterior, and provide clear community benefits. A public site walk and an evening presentation at Woburn Public Library on October 14 will help residents and potential developers explore ideas and next steps.
   

• Fifth Member Position: Woburn Retirement Board (mass.gov) — Woburn's Retirement System is recruiting a new fifth board member for a three‑year term starting January 1, 2027, and applications are open now. The unpaid independent member cannot be a current employee, retiree, or official of the system or its units, and will help oversee $238 million in pension assets for about 1,400 members. Interested residents must submit a letter and resume by October 29, 2026.
