Woburn City Council Seeking Candidates For Anderson's Seat

The former council president stepped down after being appointed a state judge.

WOBURN, MA — Woburn City Council is seeking candidates to fill former President Michael Anderson's ward 4 alderman seat.

Anderson stepped down from the council after being appointed a state Probate and Family Court judge. City council already elected Alderman Lindsay Higgins to fill Anderson's seat as council president.

The city council will fill Anderson's seat for the remainder of his term at their Sept. 8 meeting, the city said. His term runs until the Nov. 2021 municipal election.

Any registered ward 4 voter who has lived in Woburn and been a Woburn resident and U.S. citizen for at least one year is eligible.

Anyone interested should file a letter of interest and resume with the city clerk's office at Woburn City Hall by Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
