Woburn Coronavirus: City Asks Nursing Homes To Do On-Site Testing
The city also reported 146 confirmed coronavirus cases, Thursday. Sixty-one residents have active cases.
WOBURN, MA — Woburn Mayor Scott Galvin issued an advisory Thursday requesting that the city's long-term care facilities conduct on-site testing of residents and staff. The state issued guidance earlier this week recommending the same.
The city has six long-term care facilities, a category which includes nursing homes, assisted living, and rest homes, Galvin. They should contact the state's Mobile Testing program about on-site testing, at 617-366-2350.
A number of the state's long-term care facilities have serious outbreaks of the virus, including Wilmington's AdviniaCare, where 19 residents have died.
